Tollie · Privacy policy

Tollie collects nothing.

Effective 24 October 2026

We never receive your data. Tollie has no account, no servers of its own, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. What Tollie keeps stays on your iPhone or in your own private iCloud, which only you can read.

This policy covers the Tollie app for iPhone, published by Magentic B.V. (“we”). It explains what the app stores, where it stores it, and what Apple handles on our behalf.

What stays on your iPhone

What goes to your own iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, Tollie saves your toll booths (rules), keys and settings in your private iCloud database, so a new iPhone can pick them up. This includes the feature map of your photo key spot (see below) and your witness’s first name. Apple stores this data under Apple’s privacy policy; we cannot see or access it.

The camera and your photo key

When you set up or use a photo key, Tollie uses the camera to build a feature map of the spot you chose: a cloud of points that describes its shape, used to recognise the spot again. The map stays on your phone and in your private iCloud.

Tollie also saves one photo of the spot when you scan it, so you can see which spot your key is. The photo stays on your phone: it is not synced to iCloud, never sent anywhere, and not used to unlock. Deleting the key deletes its photo. No video is ever saved.

Your witness

If you add a witness, their first name is kept with your settings and their phone number in your iCloud Keychain. After a Break Glass, Tollie pre-fills a text to them in Messages. You decide whether to send it; Tollie never sends messages by itself.

Notifications

Reminders such as “one minute left” on a pass are scheduled on your phone. No push server is involved.

Purchases

Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, Apple ID or name. Apple gives developers anonymous sales reports.

Information Apple may share with us

If you chose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics. You can change this under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

Deleting your data

Deleting Tollie removes everything stored on your phone. To remove what Tollie saved in your iCloud, open Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage and delete Tollie’s data there.

Children

Tollie does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
